Dr. Anna Chacon is a board-certified dermatologist who has a passion for helping patients resolve their dermatologic conditions from the comfort of their home. She grew up in Miami, Florida, and has lived in many different regions such as Los Angeles, California; Providence, Rhode Island, the arctic slope region of Alaska; Cairo, Egypt; Haifa, Israel and Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has a lifelong passion for being a doctor and physician, which was inspired by her own father Dr. Chacon, a pioneer in critical care in South Florida and founder of the largest private intensive care unit in the area. After frequently attending work with her father at the hospital, rounding and watching him care for others during natural disasters and times of need with a great sense of compassion, she knew from a young age that becoming a doctor was her calling and what she was born to do.
Dr. Chacon graduated at the top of her class at a private all girls school in Miami, the Convent of the Sacred Heart as valedictorian. She then obtained her concentration in Economics and medical degree from Brown University’s Program in Liberal Medical Education. Her interest in pursuing the subspecialty field of dermatology led to a research fellowship in dermatologic surgery at the University of Miami, during which she performed significant research investigations, conference presentations and managed clinical trials in lasers. She then completed an internship in surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center, followed by a dermatology residency. She completed her dermatology residency at Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, where she served as chief resident. During the pandemic, she discovered her interest for teledermatology and specifically for learning the nuances and differences in providing dermatological care in diverse platforms and across state lines, particularly to patients in underserved and rural areas or busy patients simply in need of care. This passion led her to work for various companies and pursuits within telemedicine and teledermatology, where she is licensed in 49 states – all states except for Oregon, Vermont and Minnesota. Dr. Anna Chacon is now a Board-Certified Dermatologist with a passion and clinical expertise for teledermatology as well as all other aspects of dermatology, medical, surgical and cosmetic alike. After her lifelong journey as a physician into this beautiful field, she is excited and looks forward to being your dermatologist!
Dr. Chacon has completed numerous peer reviewed publications, authored chapters in dermatologic textbooks, lectured at national conferences and maintains active leadership roles in organizations such as:
After completing residency, Dr. Chacon worked at Cleveland Clinic Florida as a dermatologist and staff physician for 3 years near her hometown in South Florida. She currently treats patients in person in 3 states: Florida, California and Alaska and at her office in Miami, Florida but felt the need to recreate the convenience of a modern-day and immediate dermatological care for her patients who often wait many months to see a dermatologist. She developed her virtual dermatology practice that operates beyond the four walls of a traditional office and in 49 states to provide personalized and convenient dermatologic care in the comfort of your home.
Dr. Chacon offers a safe, convenient and cost-effective solution to delivering expert skincare to all patients within the 49 states she currently holds medical licenses (all except Oregon, Minnesota and Vermont). If you don’t live in one of those states, stay tuned, as she is in the process of expanding her licensure to service all 50 states and U.S. territories where dermatologists often don’t exist. Through tele dermatology Dr. Chacon hopes to improve the access to dermatology care to patients who are geographically isolated, in rural areas, uninsured or simply too busy to wait many months or travel elsewhere to see a board certified dermatologist for an urgent dermatological issue.
